Leading the way for an Olympics app to update hundreds of thousands daily
Accommodating a large amount of constantly updating information
The challenge was creating an interface that would accommodate a large amount of constantly updating information.
The approach
Clarifying what content will be displayed and how often it will update I then created the wireframes and established the colour coding. After extensive meetings with Senior Microsoft staff the IA was developed , the look and feel established with three versions created with the recommended version ultimately going live.
Instant access sliding mechanism
Since there were certain elements that I felt should be instantly accessible I designed a sliding mechanism from the base of the design for the user to instantly access key information relating to the Olympics.
Prototype testing
The chosen design was approved and the job of producing the various templated began. All in all the project went from ideation to completion in under six months.
