Creating a research portal for the financial giant Royal Bank of Scotland
Creating a research portal for the financial giant Royal Bank of Scotland
Creating a research portal for this global financial company
The order of the day was to create a research portal for RBS staff to share important documents, and collaborate much like a user would with Office 365. Involved was scoping road maps, creating detailed yet succinct reports, AB testing, IA restructuring, leading design sprints and workshops, qualitative & quantitative testing, building design systems, creating user journeys, prototypes, personas & data defined archetypes, running focus groups and one on ones, writing project appropriate user stories and testing synthesis.
Defining the information architecture
A crucial aspect was to ensure the appropriate IA was established for the various silos to contain the appropriate tiered access, enabling smooth sharing features.
Providing relevant constraints to the authoring framework
To prevent inappropriate storage and wayward document sharing much of the rules applied to ensuring the authoring framework was constrained enough to prevent a loose and vague set of system rules.
Redefining colour branding assigned to each business segment
With a pre existing set of colour rules existing for the brand the requirement here was to redefine the rules with the new digital estate created for internal use in the research portal.
